Glossary Word Number One
Escape. This word means to get free or break free from something and it could also mean to avoid something. For example, the word escape was used in the beginning of “I Am David” when David was given the chance to escape; David broke free of the concentration camps confinement. When he escaped the camp he was free.
Glossary Word Number Two
Beautiful. This word could be used when describing something pretty or something pleasing to see. This word was used by David numerous times within the story. For example, he used the word beautiful when describing the homes of the places he went to. He also used it when describing the pretty scenery and nature as well as Maria. They were all something pleasing to see.
Glossary Word Number Three
Smile. This action could is defined as an expression of happiness or amusement. For example, in the story David had said that he wanted to learn how to smile and then finally he had smiled when talking to Maria because he was happy when he talked to her.
Glossary Word Number Four
Stupid. This word means to make poor decision or bad idea. In David’s case he used it when describing someone with a lack of intelligence. For example, David had called a lorry driver stupid because he could not make a good decision as what to do with the women he adored. David also called the children of the family he stayed with stupid because he thought there was no reason for what they had been doing.
Glossary Word Number Five
God. Is someone who would have supernatural powers and the ability to manipulate something and is a being that is worshiped to. A god could also be considered someone that is perfect. In the story David had prayed, or worshiped, a god that he had decided to follow. David also prayed for things to come true for example to get a bar of soap. Then in a sense god used his power to make it possible for David to get his wishes.
